For the past three years, I have been running Tides Mirissa, a beachside hostel where I have had the opportunity to welcome travellers from around the world.
Working directly with guests taught me what visitors genuinely need in Sri Lanka—not just a list of popular attractions, but honest advice, reliable transport, carefully selected accommodation and someone local they can contact when plans change.
I also heard the same frustrations repeatedly: outdated travel information, rushed itineraries, inflated prices and recommendations designed around commissions rather than the traveller. I created The Local's Sri Lanka to offer a more personal and transparent alternative.
Every journey begins with a direct conversation about how you want to travel. I then work with trusted local drivers, guides, hotels and experience providers to build an itinerary around your interests, preferred pace and budget.
