Travel Disclaimer

Sri Lanka is a genuinely rewarding place to travel, but a few honest realities are worth knowing before you go:

Weather-Dependent Activities

Activities like whale watching, hiking, and some water sports depend on weather and sea conditions. We plan around the best-known seasons for each activity, but nature doesn't follow a fixed schedule, and any activity involving the outdoors can be affected on the day.

Wildlife Sightings

Safari drives and whale watching trips offer a genuinely good chance of sightings based on the season and location we choose, but wild animals cannot be guaranteed to appear. No safari or whale watching operator anywhere can promise a specific sighting.

Hiking and Adventure Activities

Some parts of an itinerary may involve genuine physical activity — hiking, climbing, or adventure sports like white water rafting. We'll always be upfront about the physical demand of anything we suggest, but you're responsible for assessing whether an activity suits your own fitness and health.

Transport and Train Delays

Sri Lanka's train network, while scenic, is not always punctual. Road travel times can also be affected by weather, traffic, or local conditions. We build reasonable buffers into itineraries, but delays are sometimes outside anyone's control.

Train Seat Availability

Popular scenic train routes have limited seating that can sell out, particularly in peak season. We book as early as possible once your itinerary is confirmed, but availability is never guaranteed until the ticket is actually issued.

Supplier-Operated Activities

Many activities on your itinerary (safaris, cooking classes, workshops, water sports) are operated by independent local suppliers, not by us directly. We select suppliers we trust, but the activity itself is delivered under that supplier's own operating standards and safety practices.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend arranging comprehensive travel insurance that covers your trip, including any adventure activities you plan to take part in.

Traveller Responsibility

You're responsible for your own health, safety, and decision-making during activities, and for following the guidance of on-the-ground guides and activity operators.
